Aleksandar Georgiev, attorney-at-law, graduated from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Faculty of Law in 2000.

From 2000 to 2019 he worked in the National Revenue Agency (NRA), having started as a legal adviser in Territorial Tax Directorate - Sofia, Tax Division “Serdika”.

At the end of 2001 he transferred to Territorial Tax Directorate “Large Taxpayers” (subsequently - Territorial Directorate of the NRA “Large Taxpayers and Insurers”), and in 2005 he was appointed Head of the Appeals Department thereof.

In 2007 he joined the “Appeals and Enforcement Management” Directorate (subsequently – “Appeals and Tax and Social Insurance Practice” Directorate) with the Head Office of the National Revenue Agency, where he successively occupied the positions Head of the Appeals Department, Deputy Director and as of 2010 - Director.

In 2017 Aleksandar Georgiev was appointed Deputy Executive Director of the National Revenue Agency, and in April 2019 - Chairman of the State Commission on Gambling, which position he occupied until the end of January 2020.

Since April 2020 he is registered as a freelancer – “Legal and tax consultant”. Aleksandar Georgiev has more than 20 years of professional experience.

As of December 2022 he is a member of the Sofia Bar Association.
