Lyubimka Georgieva, attorney-at-law, graduated from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Faculty of Law in 1999. She has more than 20 years of professional experience.

From 2001 to 2003, atty. Georgieva worked in the National Securities Commission (NSS). In 2003 the NSS, together with the Insurance Supervision Agency and the State Social Insurance Supervision Agency, merged into the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC).

From 2003 to 2017 she worked in the Financial Supervision Commission, where she gained extensive legal expertise and experience in the field of capital and insurance market in the following main areas: public companies and other issuers of securities, special purpose investment companies, management companies, collective investment schemes, investment companies and investment intermediaries, insurance companies operating on the Bulgarian insurance market, license procedures before the FSC, as well as representation of individuals and legal entities in connection with civil, administrative and administrative penal proceedings.

From October 2016 to February 2017, Lyubimka Georgieva was Chair of the Sectoral Conciliation Commission for Dispute Resolution in the field of insurance and insurance mediation, including the provision of distance financial services in these sectors. In this capacity, she gained experience in resolving disputes between consumers and traders, including providing assistance in resolving such disputes by preparing conciliation proposals for the parties.

Part of the professional experience of atty. Georgieva has been acquired during her work in the “Centre for Prevention and Counteraction to Corruption and Organized Crime” with the Council of Ministers, where she was involved in the review and coordination of bills of the executive authorities, as well as in the procedure for impact assessment of legislative acts adopted by the National Assembly.

From January to April 2018 she was appointed chief expert in the Counter-Corruption And Unlawfully Acquired Assets Forfeiture Commission where she was responsible for bills coordination in accordance with the functional competence of the Commission.

As of May 2018 Lyubimka Georgieva is a member of the Sofia Bar Association.
